How do animals and plants protect themselves? Why do they do it? With these questions in mind, children will examine a variety of real plants and animals, both in the wild and captivity to formulate some answers to these important questions, and to record their ideas. And we don’t forget people too! Then we zero in on one kind of protection – camouflage – and build an animal, and a diorama of a habitat for it to hide into, using mixed media, real materials and ingenuity.
